West Wind Internet and Client Tools 5.35 released 04/30/2008
West Wind Technologies has released version 5.35 of its Visual FoxPro client Internet and utility library, West Wind Internet and Client Tools. This utility library includes a wide variety of Internet functionality including SMTP and POP3 email access, a rich HTTP client, FTP client and a basic Socket client. The utility library also includes a lightweigth business object library, XML helper class, a FoxPro based SOAP client, a new wwDotNetBridge class and much more. This update is primarily a maintenence release and provides a few fixes and updates to existing functionality. There are also a number of enhancements to the wwDotNetBridge, XML and SOAP classes to improve usability. As always registered users of version 5 can update for free, and a shareware version is availble to try out the product for free.

West Wind Web Connection Training at Southwest Fox in October 04/21/2008
West Wind Technologies is hosting Web Connection 5.0 training with Rick Strahl prior to the Southwest Fox Conference again in Arizona this year. Last year's event was a big success with record attendance and glowing reviews. West Wind Technologies has released version 5.35 of its flag ship Web development product West Wind Web Connection. Web Connection is a Web development tool specifically designed to take advantage of Visual FoxPro's unique data centric features, while leveraging modern development tools including Visual Studio to create FoxPro based Web applications. This update is primarily a maintenance release that fixes a few issues and provides small incremental improvements to various controls in the Web Control Framework. Web Connection is available as fully functional shareware and registered users of version 5.0 can update to the latest version for free.

West Wind Html Help Builder 4.48 released 03/26/2008
West Wind Technologies has released version 4.48 of West Wind Html Help Builder. Help Builder is a solution to produce documentation for end user applications as well as developer documentation for Visual FoxPro, .NET, Sql Server and many other development tools. Help Builder's unique approach to documentation that focuses on easy content creation, makes the job of creating CHM Help files, HTML documentation and Word documents a breeze. This update is mainly a maintenance release that fixes a number of small issues. It also provides a few user interface enhancements including an improved style selection dialog, updated style templates as well as improved export to Word functionality. Help Builder is available as shareware to try for free, and registered users can update to the latest version through the Check For Latest Version option on the Help Menu.

West Wind Web Monitor Walk Through Video Posted 03/20/2008
We've posted a video walk through some of the features and demonstrate how to configure West Wind Web Monitor. Web Monitor is a utility application that can be used to monitor any number of Web sites periodically to ensure they are up and running and if not returning expected results to notify you or even take corrective action in response to a failure. This 20 minute video covers the basics of setting up a few sites for monitoring and demonstrating failure scenarios. The demo also shows off the different operational modes running on the desktop, in the taskbar or running as a Windows service as well as using the Web interface to administer Web Monitor remote over the Web. West Wind Technologies will host a general Web Connection chat on Thursday March 20th. Time: 12:00pm Pacific Daylight Time, 3pm Eastern or 19:00 GMT. There will be no specific topic, but rather we'll use this chat as an open forum for questions about Web Connection and FoxPro Web Development in general with Rick Strahl (me). I'll also talk a little about direction for the future of Web Connection and solicit input from attendees what features you are looking for. This is a loose discussion so anything and all related to Web Connection and Fox Web Development can be addressed.
