I am going to be moving my data off direct attached and onto our EMC SAN via CIFS. I'm wondering if now is the time to move our RequestLogs and possibly our Sessions to SQL Server. Currently I "roll" our RequestLogs every night at midnight so it's not like our RequestLogs get unbearably huge anyway. I keep our Sessions file well groomed too, it usually runs about a million records or so at any given time.
So, my question is, is there any need/advantage of moving these tables to SQL Server instead of keeping them as DBF's over CIFS on the SAN (which is _extremely_ fast, btw - of course our SQL Server ain't no slouch either).
Any ideas?
