Just when I thought things were going well - my laptop completely crashes. Talk about bad timing. I'm supposed to be off for travel to do a bunch of sessions next week and instead I'm looking at a complete hosed machine.

The old Dell decided to give up its ghost today after almost 4 years of service. I had left earlier today, put the machine to sleep and when I returned, powered on it locked up completely. I thought this is weird, turned it off and on, rebooted and it stopped half way through the Windows startup.

Now nothing. I get a powerlight, but the fan doesn't fire up - it looks like a fried power supply. Of course this being a laptop, I don't exactly know how to fix that in a hurry.

I have the Hard Drive and I think the data is probably fine on it, so that's a relief at least - I'll find out later.

Now the tough part will be figuring out how to get a laptop that is reasonably configured to do these presentations on in a hurry.

I might have to go to CostCo, pick up a machine, get this week over with and bring it back...

Why can't life ever be little more user friendly <g>? Murphy loves me...
