Hood River 2009
Another fun summer in the Gorge with wind and waves and a lot of fun bike riding. This year was cut short a bit by a trip to Europe to visit Markus and a back injury that put me out for nearly 6 weeks. Still a good year!

  • It's freaking windy. It blew 3.0 where were you?
  • Big Backloop at Arlington. Way to start off the summer in the Gorge!
  • Big swell! Whoo hoo.
  • Keep rollin' rollin' rollin...
  • Wonk.
  • Board Salad at Arlington on a day when the wind just died after a nuker.
  • Fuuuuck! Clearcut. Once upon a time there was a trail here.
  • Cowpunching on a drizzly day.
  • Still cold: snow on the low peaks.
  • Gorge View from the Hood River Bridge on the way home from a bike ride.
  • Somebody give me a haircut.
  • Mountain View from Hospital Hill
  • Top of the hill taking a break. Great views of Hood River Valley, the Gorge and Mt. Hood.
  • Gorge View.
  • Watch out for the Cow crossing.
  • The Spine of God
  • Bridge view coming back from sailing. Mt. Hood looking back towards HR.
  • Cherries...
  • ... and more cherries!
  • I'm rich, I'm rich! We can look forward to this in the US soon enough.
  • Mt Hood on Dog River ride.
  • Generating power at Arlington in more ways than one!
  • Big wide open at Arlington.
  • I can almost see it!
  • Mt St. Helens on a bike ride.
  • Big ass trees.
  • Majestic view of St. Adams from the east slope of St. Helens
  • Bike trails up the mountain.
  • Flattened still - 30 years later.
  • Making mountains out of molehills.
  • Pointdexter!
  • End of the line - last spindly ridges before the end.
  • Marmot! The little guy (not so little you know) was trotting across the trail unperturbed by oncoming bikes. Pudgy fella is getting ready for hibernation.
  • Alpental - not quite...
  • Switchbacks on the way down.
  • Late afternoon after an awesome day of logo high sailing at Oceanside.
  • Moonrise over the eastern hills in Hood River, caught be chance at 2am from the balcony. Lotsa shooting stars too.
