Ah hardware - my favorite subject <g>. I can't remember the last time I had to think about hardware when installing a machine, but today I ran into this:

I just bought a new monster 400 gig drive for my desktop server that I use for testing. Rather than using the ever so slow Virtual PC I figure I can build a bunch of separate partitions onto this box and use it as my 'virtual' PC.

Ok fine and good, but I can't figure out how to get the Serial ATA interface to be recognized by Windows since it doesn't have drivers for the host adapter.

You're supposed to press F6 to install additional drivers and I did. Press S to insert a disk into drive A: and load up drivers.

Except - one tiny problem - I don't have an A: drive or a floppy drive for that matter... Windows conveniently prompts for 'Enter disk into Drive A:' with no options for changing the drive and it's not reading a swapped in CD either.

So question is how do I load the drivers from the CD or anywhere else for that matter?

Any ideas?
