Ran into this link today on Scott Hanselmans Web Log for a neat little utility that you optimizes Adobe Acrobat and can reduce its startup time drastically. The tool is called PdfSpeedup and can be found here:

There's also a PDF printer driver available which is fast and has decent licensing for server operation that might be of interest, along with a few other tools.

Check it out. If you use Acrobat, PdfSpeedup is a must run!
