I have a Cingular 2125 SmartPhone and ever since installing Vista RC1 (actually 5536 pre-RC1) the phone hasn’t been recognized and hasn’t synced.  In Vista Beta 2 I was able to sync my SmartPhone but for some odd reason in RC1 Vista doesn’t seem to recognize my phone as a syncable device. I can connect to the machine and it shows up as a device but Vista doesn’t add it to Sync Center.

Does anybody have this working in RC1?

I seem to remember that in Beta 2 I was able to get the phone recognized, but it also wouldn’t sync to Office until sometime later when a patch was downloaded automatically that enabled proper sync.

I’m all for the OS including the Smart device interface functionality but it seems we’ve now lost complete control over the hookup process. There seems to be nothing to configure nowhere to specify to scan or add devices which seems silly.

I’m curious to hear if others have this working…
