Anybody else notice that the spamming virtually stopped this weekend? I usually get something like 500 emails a day of which at least 400 will be junk. This weekend, I check my mail only a couple of times and I had less than 10 messages for a day and it wasn't even all junk.
Now, is that because spammers are on vacation too, or because they figure nobody gets their email? I guess even automatons need a break from pushing buttons every once in a while...
Interestingly all of the junk was phishing schemes for PayPal and Bank One. Now I always wonder about these sort of schemes? How is it that PayPal or BankOne who must know about these things as soon as they happen cannot nap these guys. There's an IP address and it must belong to somebody. It seems odd that this sort of thing can go on without any repercussions. It's not like these sites are up only for a few minutes...
