October 27, 2005 @ 4:44 am

Microsoft has heard some of the complaints about the ASP.NET 2.0 project deployment issues and they are planning to release an Add-In project type that provides the missing features to control deployment much better.

VS.NET 2005 Debugger chokes on COM/.NET Interop Debugging
October 26, 2005 @ 4:44 pm

VS.NET 2005 RC seems to have problems debugging into COM Interop .NET object from a COM client. I'm struggling with a few issues today regarding porting the 1.1 wwwReflection.dll from Help Builder to 2.0 and add support for Generics etc.

Creating Undo functionality in a Visual FoxPro TextBox
October 26, 2005 @ 3:00 am

VFP's native TextBox control has - uh, marginal Undo functionality. The functionality does actually more harm than good as it seems very inconsistent for users - so much so that it would be difficult to rely on it in an application. Anyway, today I finally decided to do something about it and build optional undo behavior into my custom Editbox control.

A few really annoying VS.NET 2005 ASP.NET bugs
October 08, 2005 @ 2:54 pm

Here are a couple of annoying bugs that cause me to loose some time during development. First control renaming in the ASP.NET WebForm editor often doesn't allow renaming. And multiple CSS references applied to a page being injected by VS.NET for who knows what reason.

Project and Item Templates in VS.NET 2005 are easy!
October 05, 2005 @ 10:12 pm

After reading Scott Guthrie's post on project templates I took a closer look to see how I could integrate this with my new Web Connection tools for VFP. It turns out the new templates mechanism in VS.NET is super easy to use and extremely handy in preconfiguring projects and pages.

Ditch the SmartPhone Emulator in Visual Studio!
October 04, 2005 @ 12:31 am

The SmartPhone Emulator in VS.NET 2005 is a royal pain in the ass and I've taken to developing on my actual phone and using Pocket-Controller which yields a much more reasonable development experience.
