Mysterious System.ExecutionEngineException failure with the ASP.Net Runtime

I’ve been struggling with a nasty bug that I haven’t been able to crack with the ASP.Net runtime hosted in a desktop application. I get a System.ExecutionEngineException which isn't trappable and occurs only once the very first time the app is run. Thereafter all works well.

First thoughts on Visual Studio 2005 Team System

After sitting through the TechEd general session keynote on I was pretty blown away by the scope that Microsoft is attacking with Visual Studio 2005 Team Services. I have a few thoughts on what this means for my development as well as expectations for the Whidbey release.

Creating Virtuals and reading Installed Sites on IIS with .Net

For many ASP.Net app installations I have needed an easy way to create virtuals and preconfigure them to some basic rules easily. Most installers don't support this functionality and certainly not at the often required detail when setting Virtual properties or even selecting a specific site to install a virtual directory on with IIS. This article contains a basic class that wraps the process and makes short work of adding virtual creation support to your application.
